It´s our fourth night on our journey and the first time we have been able to sit down and write. We have just found out that we cannot edit our site on our iPads which means we cannot post our travel stories until we come home. But we have decided to write anyway and put it online later, which is silly, we know. However, by writing it down, we might keep the memories alive a bit longer and enjoy them more often.
First. Our journey began by driving from our little town up north, down to the capital, for a much needed pit stop at KFC and then onto the village by the airport. We were rewarded with an upgrade to the suite, which didn´t have a hair dryer so not really an upgrade.
We were up bright and early to catch our flight just a couple of hours later, maybe we should have skipped the suite and just stayed at the bus stop drinking. The flight was great since we were enjoying flying with an upscale airline, but then again, most people find it utter crap but being the rural villagers we are, we were pleased, ordering tapas and sparkling wine, not really as grand as it sounds since it came in individually wrapped in really unattractive plastic packaging.
But it brought us to Paris and the the most horrendous hotel but with our spread and bottles of wine it was amazing. Oh and we did see that tower thing. It was also amazing.
The next day we had about the longest flight in history on a plane filled with about three hundred children, of which about third, was crying. Great. The coffee was discoloured water served with the lovely hospitality which the french are famous for …
Jokes aside, the cretans have the most amazing hospitality! They are friendly, open, relaxed and just fantastic sports. We might not come home! The germans are okey, very accurate people who I do not think get our humour at all, but then we appear to be an acquired taste as well.
